Earners of this badge have attended a one day interactive course to understand the fundamentals of data visualisation processes and learn how to create simple data rich reports using Power BI software. Delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College and fully funded by the Connected NI programme.

Criteria

Earner has attended a 1 day course in person to learn the fundamentals of Microsoft's Power BI software, to assist with the development of visual metrics and dashboards for data analysis.

Earner has demonstrated their understanding of the differences between data sources and data models alongside various types of visualisations available in Power BI through practical exercises.

Earner has learned how to add and format basic data visualisation and interactive visuals. This was achieved through a Lecturer demonstration and earner replicating the methodology in a practical task.

Earner has demonstrated through a practical task that they understand how to connect data sources to the Power BI. This includes performing basic analysis of the data.

Earner has shown and practically demonstrated that they understand how to customise visualisations, add filters, assess trends and metrics on data to help inform performance tracking or decision making.

Earner has learned and demonstrated how to publish a dashboard or report to the Power BI cloud service.

Earner has understood and practically demonstrated within the classroom setting how to share a report with colleagues and has collaborated on a report within the Power BI platform.

Earner can utilise the Power BI platform to create data rich reports and visuals to help inform business driven decision making or research projects.
