This unit also provides the knowledge, understanding and skills to support assessment for learning. It requires demonstration of competence in using assessment strategies to promote learning, supporting learners to review their learning strategies and achievements, and working with the teacher to review assessment for learning processes and outcomes.

Earner has shown recording & reporting skills by submitting a written document detailing their roles and responsibilities and how their own values, beliefs and experiences may affect their working practices. Earners used their communication and team working skills to take part in a group discussion where they explained their understanding of the Classroom Assistant role and associated organisational practices.
Earner has developed their professionalism and learning theory skills by evaluating their own performance and agreeing to a personal development plan that outlined the learning opportunities available to support their development. Evidence of this learning included the completion of a personal development plan which demonstrated the earner’s skills to record and monitor their professional progress.
Earner has demonstrated their understanding of the purpose and characteristics of assessment for learning. Earner has also evidenced their ability to contribute to reviewing assessments for learning & maintaining learner records. Evidence for this learning was demonstrated via the delivery of a presentation to colleagues.
Earner has demonstrated their ability to use assessment strategies to promote learning and they are able to support learners in reviewing their learning strategies and achievements. Evidence for this was submitted to the tutor in the form of a case study.
