Earner has developed their understanding of the special educational needs of children and young people with cognition and learning needs, emotional, behavioural and social development needs and sensory and physical needs. Earner has demonstrated their learning by creating a resource that identifies barriers to participation and engagement and the importance of early recognition and interventions.
Earner has demonstrated their understanding of the principles of inclusive practice, the rights of disabled children and young people, and those with special educational needs. Earner has created a fact sheet to identify the requirements of current legislation in Home Nations in relation to inclusive practice and to summarise the provision, assessment and intervention frameworks and the rights of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Earner has learned how to obtain information about individual needs, capabilities and interests of disabled children and young people, and those with special educational needs. Earner has carried out an interview with educational professionals and produced a written report to evidence this learning.
Earner has observed and submitted a written report which highlighted three strategies of support; this evidence of learning has been assessed and demonstrates their understanding of the the kinds of strategies needed to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
