Earners of this badge have attended an interactive workshop exploring the world of special effects makeup in Film and TV Production as part of the 'Get Into Digital' programme. The 'Get Into Digital' programme is designed to spark interest in learning and employment pathways into the creative and digital industries in Northern Ireland. Funded by the Department for the Economy Skill Up Programme and delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College.

Earner has attended an interactive workshop led by an industry expert to learn about what a career in special effects makeup entails. That included open dialogue and a Question & Answer session between the industry expert, lecturers and students.

Earner has engaged in an interactive workshop to ask an industry expert their advice and guidance for a new entrant seeking training and employment opportunities in the film and television sector. While taking part in the session, earner has demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork and confidence.

Earner has learned about the competencies and technical skills required to become a special effects makeup artist within the film or television sector and how the role fits into an overall production team. This has provided a great opportunity for self-reflection and career development.

Earner has developed their understanding of the health and safety implications around the chemicals and products used in special effects makeup.

Earner has utilised their active listening skills to develop an understanding of special effects makeup techniques such as stencils, air brushing, cosmetics and prosthetics.
