Earners of this badge have completed work experience with an employer. Earners have developed workplace skills, contacts, and knowledge about IT roles and careers.

Criteria

Earner has gained beneficial insight and knowledge of IT roles within a corporate environment. They have done this by observing and shadowing people in their daily work tasks.

Earner has gained an increased understanding of employment pathways into the sector and the work ethic required to work there.

Earner has completed a work experience log book. This involved setting goals during their placement, and then reflecting upon what they have learned at various points. This exercise helped earner with their professional development and ultimately prepare for their employment interviews.

Earner has demonstrated a motivation to completing the full work experience and commitment to their career development. Earner has had the opportunity to reflect and receive feedback from supervisors during their placement on their progress and areas for development.

Earner has honed their communication and teamwork skills by participating in tasks supervised by the employer e.g. undertaken research on a particular topic and presenting this back to a small group.

Earner has learned about, and demonstrated the importance of time management in the workplace. Earner has demonstrated this by turning up for their work experience on time daily and undertaking specific work packages for the employer within a set timeframe.
