Earner has learned how to ascertain, understand, and comply with emergency procedures on board ships which increases safety of passengers and crew by ensuring a controlled and coordinated response to crises.

Earner has understood the importance of, and procedures for, taking precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment.

Earner has developed their understanding on how to take necessary actions to control fatigue which increases the safety of passengers and crew by ensuring the earner is ready and able to execute all duties to the required standard.

Earner has shown they can observe safe working practices and contribute to effective human relationships on board ships. For example, the earner has demonstrated the skill of clear and respectful communication of salient information which ensures a unified response from the crew to crises arising.
