Criteria

Earner has participated in a number of workshops over three to four months, facilitated by school staff and Magistrates. As an individual they have spent 15-20 hours preparing for the Mock Trials Competition held at the Bradford Magistrates Court.
Earner has demonstrated a willingness to learn and the ability to work as a member of a team. They have developed confidence and an aptitude to think on their feet under pressure as a member of a prosecuting and / or defending team.
Earner has participated in a Mock Trial, competing against other schools, held at Bradford Magistrates Court. They have demonstrated active listening and the ability to speak with confidence while creating a legal argument.
Earner has increased their knowledge of law and the justice system in our society by taking part in a competitive mock court trial. They have also demonstrated how the law is applied to a particular case and demonstrate an understanding of magistrates in court.
Earner has demonstrated professional court etiquette on entering and exiting court, during a court hearing and addressing the legal team and magistrates. They have demonstrated knowledge of the different roles of court officials such as Defence Solicitor, Legal Advisor, Usher, Magistrate and Prosecutor.
Earner has communicated confidently with Magistrates and also been encouraged to think critically, construct persuasive arguments, and enhance their overall confidence.
