Criteria

Earner has taken part in a traffic audit educational experience coached by West Yorkshire police community officers and police officers. They have gained an understanding of law enforcement and guidelines and how to keep the community safe, including how to interact with members of the public and educating drivers on dangers of speeding.
Earner has learnt how to use a speed gun to monitor driving speed of vehicles and gained practical understanding of how a speed gun works. This includes including switching on/off, aiming at the desired target, depressing the trigger to send out a radio signal, receiving the returned signal, and releasing the trigger to complete the measurements.
Earner has learnt how to collate photos and data on possible road risks and causes of accidents. They have learnt to identify road safety issues such as inadequate lighting, poor sight distances, unclear or confusing road layouts, unsafe vehicles and road infrastructure, insufficient law enforcement of traffic laws, and inadequate post-crash care.
Earner has gained an understanding of legal compliance of a speed audit. They have engaged their critical thinking skills and increased their knowledge of health and safety, risk analysis, and investigation.
