Earners of this badge have explored going onto Higher Education as a potential option after school or college. Earner has visited one or more HE institutions to explore the courses available and have a tour of the facilities including residential accommodation. Earner has had the opportunity to meet tutors and talk to current students about their experiences. Earner is able to differentiation between institutions and is aware of how to apply

Criteria

Earner has demonstrated use of initiative and decision making through researching into courses at Universities and Higher Education Colleges as part of their career development process.

Earner has gained the confidence and ability to differentiate between types of establishments and courses in order to identify learning preferences for future progression.

Earner has developed good communication and information gathering skills by visiting at least one University or College of Higher Education. They have had the opportunity to meet tutors and talk to current students about their experiences in order to explore and establish suitability for HE potential studies.

Earner has investigated how to apply for suitable HE courses and has gained an understanding of the application process, including deadlines to be met through UCAS or alternative routes.
