The Employer Engagement Basics Badge is a recognition awarded to individuals who have knowledge and demonstrated initial understanding and engagement with employers. This engagement includes gaining knowledge about work skills, understanding various career pathways, and undertaking some employer engagement. The recipient of this badge will have participated in activities such as a workshop regarding professional skills and interaction, informational interviews and attendance to an employer event such as careers talk, careers fair or employer visit. They will have shown a commitment to developing their professional skills and knowledge of different career options. This badge supports the recipient in their career progression by providing evidence of their developing understanding of the world of work.

Criteria

The recipient has demonstrated a basic understanding of work skills necessary for their chosen career path. This could be showcased through participation in skills-based workshops, completion of relevant courses, or obtaining certifications. They should also display their willingness to apply these skills practically in a workplace.

The recipient has shown an understanding of various career pathways. They have explored different roles within a variety of work related options, understanding the skills and qualifications required for these roles. They have also shown interest in learning about career progression and the opportunities available to them,

The recipient has gained practical experience in a careers related environment. This could be through attending at least one careers related opportunity, such as employer talks and visits, careers/job fairs or workshops/courses. This experience should demonstrate their ability to engage with employers in a professional way to expand their knowledge of real-world careers and opportunities.
