Earners of this badge have participated in a Mock Crime Scene Investigation workshop to increase their knowledge of law enforcement at a crime scene.

Criteria

Earner has participated in a mock crime scene workshop. They have used critical thinking to observe and examine a crime scene using appropriate personal protective equipment, and gained an understanding of Health and Safety and contamination.

Earner has experienced the gathering of evidence, packaging and labelling of evidence, with an emphasis on protection from contamination. They have learnt how to record key information relating to the crime scene by taking photographs, logging access and exit, updating an evidence collection log and sketch plan.

Earner has learnt how to protect a crime scene by cordoning key areas both inside and outside of the crime scene to maintain the integrity of an investigation.
