Earners of this badge have concentrated on developing foundational skills and knowledge related to careers learning. They have explored their own strengths, interests and preferences, developing an understanding of diversity. This forms part of the core curriculum KS1+2 .

Criteria

Earner has explored what "careers related learning" was whilst communicating and collaborating in small groups.
Earner has explored their self awareness, their own strengths, interests and preferences, and gained a better understanding of jobs they were interested in and why. They explored , types of jobs, technical jobs, jobs working outside, working in a service industry, public service, community and charitable sector and private sector. Earners could distinguish which sector a job fell into.
Earner has gained an understanding of why core skills such as math's, science and literacy are important, and with access to IT/internet were able to research the job they wanted to do, allowing them to start planning their learner journey to their desired job.
Earner has learnt about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. They learnt about good practice and what constituted bad or poor practice.
Earner has accessed a variety of careers software programmes, created a personal journal to reflect, and formed plans for the future
