Digital capability is the term we use to describe the skills and attitudes that individuals need in the modern world. This badge shows the successful completion if this course.

Participants have developed core digital skills helping them to engage with the digital world and work collaboratively through activities such as using digital tools safely, navigate online environments, and employ digital communication strategies.

By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a digitally connected world.

Criteria

Completed an introductory course on digital literacy, focusing on the basics of internet navigation, software use, and online safety.
Successfully demonstrated understanding and application of basic digital skills through practical exercises and assessments.
Participated in discussions or forums to explore the impact of digital technologies on personal and professional scenarios.
1. Create Folders and Use Appropriate File Management; Develop a clear folder structure with subfolders using suitable file names. Demonstrate the ability to move, copy, rename, and delete files and folders.
2. Save as Appropriate File Formats; Make decisions on file formats based on file type and purpose. Learn the difference between saving a file (preserving changes) and saving as a new file format (creating a new version). Save files in multiple formats if necessary (e.g., save a document as both .psd and .jpg).
3. Use Cloud Storage; Organize files within cloud storage using folders. Understand basic cloud storage security practices (e.g., password protection, two-factor authentication).
4. Input and Format Text in a Document; Use advanced formatting tools such as alignment, bullet points, numbered lists, and text colour. Utilize spell check and grammar tools to enhance text accuracy.
5. Produce a Presentation Slideshow; Customize slide designs using templates and themes. Add images, bullet points, animations and transitions to make the presentation engaging. Ensure content is concise and visually organized on each slide.
6. Embed Videos and Images in Documents; Embed videos and images in various locations within a document or presentation. Adjust formatting settings (e.g., text wrap, image borders).
7. Find and Use Relevant Information on the Internet; Find and use copyright free resources and reference sources of assets.
8. Communicate Effectively Using Email and MS Teams; Send and receive emails and understand email etiquette basics, like subject lines and greetings. Organize emails into folders or categories.
9. Produce Planning Documentation for a Digital Project; Develop a more detailed project plan with goals, tasks and timelines. Produce planning documents such as mind maps, storyboards, asset lists.
