INTRODUCTION TO FILMMAKING

Earners of this badge have attended a beginners workshop which was an introduction to filmmaking, earners were able to explore the technical equipment but also learnt how to make their own short film with very basic tools. Earners were introduced to the basics of editing film and basic effects that can be applied when editing. This badge is part of the Creative Industry pathway.

Criteria

The earners actively listened to the professional filmmaker, where earners participated in discussion about what equipment was needed to start making a film, from very basic home filming to creating a more professional short video/film.

Earners were introduced to editing software that could be accessed for free which was sufficient for beginners to get used to using editing tools. Earners were able to ask questions about the software and when creating their own film using the functions available.

Earners observed and were able to to add and edit sound to their films, making critical decisions about what to edit and add appropriately. Whilst taking part earners worked in small groups, collaborated and communicated their ideas, make decisions on content and additions such as music and sound. Leadership skills were developed ,and earners displayed teamwork and collaboration
