The Volunteer Skills Builder Badge recognised individuals who completed a foundational course in key volunteering concepts. Participants gained an understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health & safety. They also developed awareness of first aid, British values, GDPR, and confidentiality, while learning the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. This badge signified a commitment to personal reflection on skills and goals related to volunteering.

Criteria

Complete the Team Leeds Volunteering Course (core skills) for the following areas: Understand key concepts of Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and Health & Safety. Awareness of First Aid, British Values, GDPR, and confidentiality. Learn the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Reflect on personal skills, interests, and goals related to volunteering.

Participants are signposted to specialised training (e.g., First Aid Qualification, Food Hygiene Qualification, Money Management, Communication Skills, Social Action, Setting up Self-Sustained Community/School Groups, Organisation Skills, Creative Skills, Problem Solving, Barista Training).
