This digital badge is awarded to trainees who have successfully completed a three month placement and barista training at The Abbey Coffee Shop, reaching an intermediate level in coffee preparation and service. Throughout the programme, participants have developed essential technical skills, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, equipment maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Alongside these, they have gained key workplace skills such as teamwork, time management, problem-solving, and customer service. By applying their training in a real café environment, they have built confidence, learned to work efficiently under pressure, and contributed to a welcoming community space. Whether in a paid or voluntary role, badge recipients have demonstrated the ability to produce consistently high-quality coffee, deliver excellent service, and understand the impact of social enterprise, making this experience both professionally valuable and personally rewarding.
