The Autism Awareness Badge was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of autism, focusing on the strengths and needs of autistic individuals. The badge aimed to equip learners with practical strategies to support people with autism effectively. Through this course, participants explored the nuances of autism, gaining insights into creating inclusive environments and fostering positive interactions.

Criteria

Learners completing the Childcare Course within Doncaster AFCL.

Participants were required to complete face-to-face or online learning which cover the basics of autism, including its characteristics and the diverse experiences of autistic individuals.

Participants engaged in practical activities and tasks designed to apply their understanding of autism in real-world scenarios, focusing on supporting autistic children.

Participants demonstrated their knowledge through informal assessment, ensuring they could identify and implement strategies to support autistic individuals effectively.
