The Foundation PSP History – Excelsa accreditation recognises students who demonstrated exceptional historical thinking, originality, and leadership in their engagement with history. These students consistently produced work of a remarkably high standard, applying advanced analytical and evaluative skills well beyond their age group. They pursued independent lines of inquiry, engaged critically with complex historical debates, and often supported or inspired others through their enthusiasm and insight.

Produced consistently outstanding written work showing deep insight into causes, consequences, and historical significance. Connected ideas across time periods or regions and often contributed original interpretations rooted in strong evidence and reasoning.
Engaged in self-initiated historical research or reading, drawing on resources well beyond the curriculum. Created extended projects, essays, or presentations that demonstrated independent thought and critical synthesis of information.
Regularly led discussions, modelled high-level engagement, or contributed to academic culture through clubs, competitions, or presentations. Demonstrated exceptional maturity, resilience, and curiosity in tackling historical problems.
