Perpetua students demonstrate high levels of precision, independence, and intellectual curiosity in their study of chemistry. They consistently apply core concepts with confidence and accuracy, particularly in multistep calculations, unfamiliar contexts, and extended writing. These students evaluate experimental procedures with insight and can justify improvements using their understanding of control variables, limitations, and uncertainty. They frequently go beyond the curriculum through independent research, reading, or participation in enrichment activities such as the Chemistry Challenge or WHS Chemistry Society. Their work shows thoughtful planning, strong attention to detail, and an emerging ability to communicate chemical thinking with clarity and logical structure.

Application of Knowledge with Depth and Flexibility - Applies chemical principles confidently across a range of contexts. Explains reactivity, bonding, structure, and energy changes with accuracy and logical coherence.

Evaluative Thinking in Practical Work - Assesses practical procedures with clarity, identifying key limitations and suggesting meaningful improvements. Recognises the importance of reproducibility, control variables, and measurement precision.

Initiative Beyond the Core Curriculum - Demonstrates intellectual curiosity through optional tasks, Chemistry Society contributions, or competition entry. Shares findings or research with others and applies external learning to classroom work.
