Foundation PSP Art - Excelsa
Students awarded Excelsa accreditation at Foundation level are emerging as independent, expressive, and conceptually aware young artists. Their sketchbooks are rich, layered, and personal — containing refined drawings, confident experiments, and reflective writing that demonstrate a deep engagement with the creative process. They consistently go beyond the taught brief, initiating their own lines of enquiry or experimenting with media combinations that show originality and risk-taking.
Excelsa students demonstrate a rare blend of technical accomplishment and conceptual insight for their age. They interpret artist influences through a personal lens, use visual references purposefully, and begin to articulate their own artistic concerns. Whether through tonal work, colour blending, print, collage, or narrative composition, their outcomes are not only resolved but reveal depth of thought and distinctiveness.
They contribute actively in critiques or discussion, model resilience in the face of challenge, and inspire others through their curiosity, focus, and imaginative energy.
