Pathways PSP Art
Students accredited in Pathways PSP Fine Art have developed confidence in handling a wide range of materials, techniques, and visual ideas. From Year 9 onwards, they explore abstraction, the figure, and narrative through diverse media including collage, photography, mono printing, mixed media, and digital editing. They become increasingly fluent in using a sketchbook to document process, evaluate outcomes, and respond to artist influences.
In Year 10, students explore conceptual themes such as Fragility and Reflections & Distortions, often through sustained observational drawing, location-based studies, and 3D experimentation (e.g. modroc, latex, plaster). By Year 11, they complete an externally assessed personal project, using visual analysis, iteration, and reflection to refine their final outcomes.
Students at this level demonstrate a secure grasp of formal elements and the ability to manage a creative process from investigation through to resolution — laying the groundwork for Advanced PSP.
