Advanced PSP Psychology
Students accredited at Completion level in Advanced PSP Psychology have engaged consistently and thoughtfully with the full A Level curriculum, developing secure knowledge across key topics including memory, attachment, psychopathology, social influence, biopsychology, schizophrenia, and forensic psychology. They demonstrate an understanding of the core approaches in psychology—biological, cognitive, behavioural, psychodynamic, and humanistic—and can apply these perspectives to both theoretical debates and practical scenarios.
They can analyse research studies with reference to methodology and ethics, use psychological terminology accurately, and structure extended writing to build reasoned arguments. These students actively participate in lessons, show a willingness to engage with case studies and data, and produce thorough research reports as part of their Investigative Research Project (IRP). They are developing academic confidence and critical thinking skills that prepare them for further study in the social sciences or allied disciplines.
