Students accredited at Foundation level have engaged with a broad and dynamic curriculum exploring the elements of music through diverse styles and traditions. They develop core performance, listening, and composition skills across projects such as opera, folk music, keyboard performance, and film scoring. Participation in group performances and whole-class music-making nurtures musical confidence and collaboration.

By the end of Year 8, students can use subject-specific vocabulary to describe musical elements, compose using notation (digital or written), and perform confidently using tuned or untuned instruments. They demonstrate increasing independence and musical literacy, ready to take on more structured projects in Pathways PSP.
