Pathways PSP Music - Perpetua

Perpetua students show consistent ambition and resilience in their musical development. Their performance and composition work often exceeds GCSE expectations, and they approach ensemble roles with professionalism and leadership. Typically working at or above Grade 6–7 level, they actively contribute to the musical culture of the school through concerts, mentoring, or competition involvement. Advanced Composition and Portfolio Development - Develops original musical ideas with sophistication and attention to idiom. Uses extended techniques, varied textures, or modulations to craft engaging, structured works. Demonstrates a proactive approach to editing and refining pieces over time.
Critical Listening and Scholarly Application - Analyses music with insight and comparative fluency. References contextual knowledge (e.g. period, composer intentions) and applies musical theory to written and verbal appraisals. Shows initiative in exploring genres and repertoire beyond the syllabus.
