LMP Academy: HGV Class 1

Earners of this badge have completed industry recognised training and tests required to gain a HGV Class 1 licence. Earners are successfully prepared and equipped to gain employment within the HGV Class 1 working environment. HGV Class 1 (C + E license) allows you to drive vehicles that are 7 and half tonnes and above and have a trailer that detaches.

Earner has passed all required theory and practical tests to gain their HGV Class 1 licence. The earner has also completed relevant work experience and a range of employability training designed to enhance their skills to assist them move into employment as a HGV Class 1 Driver.
Earner has completed relevant work experience in commercial driving of HGV Class 1 Vehicles.
Earner has passed their theory test. The test has 2 parts - multiple choice and hazard perception. Earners also completed their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) which includes agreeing to complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years. Earners have also been trained to use their Digital Tachograph card to record information about driving time, speed and distance. All courses and tests have been quality assured by Driver theory Belfast & Workforce Training Belfast.
Earners have completed CV building Workshops which are tailored to the Transportation Sector and Employability and Interview Courses to enhance their employment opportunities.
Earner has demonstrated time-keeping, tenacity and timekeeping skills throughout the academy.
