Money Ready Uni Dosh

Earners of this badge have taken part in a financial education programme exploring student finance and independent living. They have been provided an overview of student finance, banking and budgeting when living independently.

Criteria

Earner has learnt about incoming money at university by developing understanding of student finance, including how repayments work for student loans. They have increased their knowledge about how to obtain a bursary, grant, or scholarship, and understood the requirements for these forms of student finance.

Earner has gained awareness of part-time employment to support themselves while they study. They have explored an example of a payslip and understood how to read one.

Earner has participated in an interactive university budgeting challenge to explore incomings and outgoings when living independently. They have worked in a team to discuss top student spends and average student costs, exploring common financial temptations and pitfalls encountered in student life.

Earner has used their analytical skills to explore student bank accounts what to look for in an account. They have increased their knowledge of overdrafts and actively listened to a presentation about alternative borrowing options.
