Sound Engineering for Beginners - Sound Equipment Awareness (Unit 2)

The Sound Equipment Awareness badge recognises learners who develop knowledge of common sound equipment used in live events. Badge earners explore microphones, mixing desks, speakers, and audio cabling, learning their basic purposes and how they contribute to live sound setups. Learners gain awareness of signal types and demonstrate safe handling practices to protect equipment and themselves. This badge confirms foundational understanding of sound technology and promotes responsible, practical engagement with live audio systems.

Earners of this badge must be between the ages of 11 – 18 years of age.

This digital badge is issued free of charge. However, to earn the badge, learners must either attend our alternative education provision or an evening class at the Young Technicians Academy, with the evening classes operating on a monthly subscription basis.

To find out more about our evening class schedules, availability, and subscription details, please contact the academy via email: reception@youngtechacademy.co.uk
