Earners of this badge have attended, or engaged online, with the Southampton Future of Work Summit 2023. Earners have listened to key note speakers, discussed ongoing and emerging priorities for the City of Southampton and taken part in several sprint sessions surrounding these emerging topics.

Criteria

Earner has listened to a variety of presentations from guest speakers surrounding the topic People, Place and Prosperity. Earner has heard about the drive from Public Health to create a healthy environment for the children and young people of Southampton to grow up and thrive within, the role of purpose-led employers and how that contributes to the Everyone Economy, and how tech can be embedded in place-shaping/place-making and what that may look and feel like.

Earner has engaged in a panel session surrounding the topic of The Global Marketplace for Skills. During this session the earner has listened to industry professionals insights and opinions into Talent attraction, development and retention, as well as skills optimisation and what a globally competitive workforce may look like.

Earner has taken part in three sprint sessions around the topics of digital inclusion, net zero and skills. During these sprint sessions the earner has engaged with peers and other professionals from across Southampton to problem solve, suggest solutions to and provide their expert opinion on each topic.

Earner has attended a panel session led by a variety of innovators and managers who are leading the way in ensuring Southampton is a Future Ready city. During this session earner has heard each panellists opinions on topics already discussed during the day as well as what role they feel they are playing in ensuring Southampton is Future Ready.

Earner has listened to a presentation around the economic assessment on Southampton and its prospects for growth. This research is part of Cities Outlook 2023, which was launched earlier in the day. Earner has had the opportunity to ask questions and hear the opinions of their fellow professionals during a Q&A session following the presentation.
