Earner has watched a video about the tax system and its social implications. They have increased their knowledge of Value Added Tax (VAT), corporation tax, income tax, and the National Insurance contribution, demonstrating understanding by successfully completing a quiz.
Earner has developed understanding of the work that HMRC does. They have demonstrated effective memory recall by communicating and sharing this information with their peers and listening carefully to each other. Earner has identified several job opportunities in the government service and given examples of how HMRC plays an important role in society.
Earner has worked collaboratively in a small group to develop awareness of ‘ghosts’, ‘moonlighters’, and the implications of not paying tax. They have communicated their ideas effectively and listened to other members of the team.
Earner has learnt about the role that tax plays when in employment, increasing their understanding of National Insurance, personal allowance, and tax codes. They have watched a video about paying tax when self-employed, including the importance of registering, keeping records, and completing a self-assessment. Earner is aware of where they can go to see further advice about tax.
