Earner has gained an understanding of the Four Constructs (building blocks) that they can use for positive constructive relationships and calm, confident parenting. Through classroom-based activities and group participation, earner has learned about Self Awareness, Appropriate Expectations, Positive Discipline, and Empathy. By having an appreciation of these constructs, they can adapt these to use in their everyday life to ensure a happy and healthy family unit.
Earner has improved their understanding of the importance of listening and communication. They have learned through group sessions that active listening and positive communication with their child will help to nurture their emotional development and social skills. Earner has learned that effective communication can help to solve problems quicker and can reduce anxiety for both them and their child.
Earner has explored the power of praise and positive interaction through gaining understanding of how this can increase self-esteem and confidence for both them and their child. Earner has learned that forms of positivity can help to reduce fear and anxiety and promote stronger emotional wellbeing. Through group discussion, earner has gained an insight into some of the ways that this can be put into practice in their everyday lives.
Earner has developed an understanding of the power of play and how it can strengthen their bond and create a safe and supportive environment for their child. They have understood the benefits of play for their child’s development including; cognitive skills such as problem solving and social skills through co-operation and sharing; emotional wellbeing through reducing stress and anxiety; and physical development of fine motor skills and balance.
Earner has learned to promote positive approaches to discipline and boundary setting. Through the exchange of ideas and group discussion, earner has explored the different ways in which discipline and boundaries can be set in a more positive manner. They have learned a number of techniques such as involving the child to set the rules, using visual aids for younger children, talking and solving problems together, and staying calm and respectful.
Earner has gained an understanding of the importance of nurture in their family relationships - for both them and their child. They have learned the importance of providing care, attention, and support, and how these are fundamental in family relationships - whilst also being aware of the importance of their own wellbeing and how this can impact on those around them.
Earner has shown confidence by participating in class activities and sharing ideas with other parents.
