Earner has learnt the importance of effective communication and information handling. This includes the importance of working in ways that maintain confidentiality in day to day communication, including being able to implement good practice in handling information. The earner has also learnt the implications on both themselves as an employee and their employer should a breach of confidentiality occur, including the steps to take, in line with their organisations confidentiality policy.

Earner has demonstrated effective communication skills in their professional setting, both with service users and colleagues. The earner has demonstrated through assessment that they are able to meet the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of individuals through either verbal or non-verbal communication, as well as being able to identify and overcome barriers to communication, such as cognitive, cultural, sensory, environmental and interpersonal.

Earner has read their organisations complaints policy and is confidently able to handle complaints from service users, relatives and external individuals in a professional and timely manner.

Earner has passed all assessments within this unit to a satisfactory/pass level.
