Excelsa students demonstrate outstanding linguistic control, creativity, and initiative in their language learning. They go well beyond classroom expectations, confidently using a range of tenses, structures, and opinions in extended writing and speaking. Their pronunciation is fluent and expressive, and they participate in discussion with a high degree of spontaneity and accuracy.

These students regularly use language independently — adapting known phrases, substituting vocabulary, and applying grammatical rules with minimal support. They show deep interest in French culture and may engage with authentic music, film, or media outside the classroom. Their work reflects a joy in language and a clear readiness to thrive in the more abstract and nuanced demands of Pathways PSP.

Criteria

Students of Wimbledon High School GDST

Exceptional Control and Range in Language Use - Uses a wide range of vocabulary, grammar, and structures independently. Produces extended and accurate work in both speech and writing.

Creative and Spontaneous Communication - Demonstrates fluency and adaptability in spoken French. Initiates conversation, reacts naturally, and adapts language to context.

Independent Interest in French Language and Culture - Pursues enrichment such as music, film, media, or competitions. Shares discoveries and models enthusiasm for language learning.
