Foundation PSP Computer Science
Students completing Foundation PSP in Computer Science develop essential digital fluency, logical thinking, and coding foundations. They explore computational thinking through decomposition and abstraction, applying these to simple problems using block-based and introductory Python coding. They become competent users of file management systems (both local and cloud-based), and gain practical experience in multimedia creation — building posters, presentations, and web pages using HTML and CSS.
Through lessons on cybersecurity and digital citizenship, they learn how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly, exploring themes such as online reputation, password safety, and algorithmic bias. They are introduced to emerging technologies including AI and machine learning, considering both how these systems function and their ethical implications. Students also collaborate on creative computing projects and begin exploring algorithmic logic using visual tools.
