Pathways PSP Computer Science
Pathways PSP students engage confidently with the full range of the GCSE Computer Science curriculum. They understand the core principles of computational thinking and apply these to develop structured, logical solutions in Python using sequence, selection, and iteration. They can design flowcharts and pseudocode, debug effectively, and reflect on how algorithms solve real-world problems.
Theoretical understanding includes binary and hexadecimal systems, data representation (images, sound, characters), and computer architecture. Students explore networks, system security, ethical and legal implications of computing, and the fundamentals of cybersecurity. Practical work includes spreadsheet modelling and structured data handling. They also demonstrate responsible digital citizenship through secure password use, respect for copyright, and awareness of digital footprints.
