Hospitality KS5 Pathway
The Careers and Technical Education team at SkillsHouse in collaboration with, The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford and Shipley College and key hospitality partners from across the district have created this pathway which provides a route into the Hospitality, Travel and Tourism sector for individuals considering a career within the Hospitality industry.
The Hospitality sector is all around us, there is no escaping it! From cafes to fine dining restaurants, night clubs to cruise ships, hotels to student accommodation, the opportunities for people making memories again in small groups will be an important way forward. This Hospitality Pathway gives you the opportunity to study and learn a diverse range of skills exemplified through Digital Skills Badges to help support career development into the Hospitality sector.
In this pathway, the learner will first engage with employability initiatives promoting confidence and skill development in young people who are interested in this growing industry. These local experiences, coupled with informative sessions on the Hospitality industry, provide a foundational understanding of Hospitality, Travel and Tourism management and career opportunities.
The pathway also provides an opportunity to develop your knowledge about the Hospitality sector. Beneficiaries of the pathway will then have the opportunity to develop technical and specialist Hospitality industry skills during the prestigious ‘Hotel Take Over’ project, such as developing a knowledge and understanding of the many different roles within a large hotel and or culinary and customer service skills. Learners will also learn about the next steps and varied routes into a successful career in the industry.
This pathway is open to Bradford, District and Craven residents and is aimed at students in secondary school through to post 16 education and beyond.
