At the heart of our approach are frameworks and high standards. We’ve developed frameworks for designing digital badges and assuring their quality, working with industry leaders to create recognition that organisations and individuals can genuinely trust.
We then use technology to make all of this easier and more powerful. Digital badges, pathways, data and AI help organisations manage the complexity of recognising, developing and communicating skills at scale. AI can remove work that was previously difficult or impractical, while keeping people in control and recognition transparent, robust and trusted.
That means the kind of connected skills infrastructure that can work across a whole city can now be just as practical for a single organisation.

Tim Riches
Founding Director
Tim leads partnerships and new opportunities at Navigatr and is closely involved in designing the frameworks and standards that underpin the platform. His focus is on building trust, quality and equity into digital recognition, so that badges have real value for learners, organisations and wider skills ecosystems.
Mark Riches
Founding Director
Mark works with organisations and places to help shape their vision into a digital programme, from a single organisation through to a whole-city skills ecosystem. He is passionate about using technology to make skills and learning more visible, helping people recognise what they can do and organisations understand the skills within their communities.
Omid Mufeed
Chief Technology Officer
Omid combines deep technical expertise in Open Badges with an eye firmly on what’s next. He helps shape the future of Navigatr, ensuring we continue to pioneer new approaches and make the most of developments in AI and emerging technology. His focus is on building systems that are increasingly transparent, robust and effortless to use, while keeping data integrity and security at their core.
Joe Turner
Software Developer
Joe develops features that make powerful technology feel simple. He oversees the AI support within Navigatr and is constantly looking for ways to remove complexity from the user experience, helping organisations create, manage and grow their programmes without needing to understand what’s happening behind the scenes.
